Kickboxing

Instructor: David Mitchell.
Built for adults who want conditioning and a striking education. In the basic program, sparring is optional. The class mixes STX Kickboxing, Jun Fan Kickboxing, and Thai boxing, from Erik Paulson, Dan Inosanto, and Chai Sirisute.
The striking pool includes boxing, Panantukan, Jun Fan / JKD kickboxing, Savate, and Muay Thai: elbows, punches, kicks, and knees. Training uses glove drills, focus mitts, Thai pads, and live sparring when a student wants it.
Jun Fan Kickboxing
Jeet Kune Do kickboxing, from Bruce Lee: simple, direct, and adaptable. Punches, kicks, elbows, knees, plus trapping and grappling so a student can change range. Intercept and counter, instead of collecting forms.
STX Kickboxing
Erik Paulson’s hybrid: boxing, Panantukan, Jun Fan kickboxing, Savate, and Muay Thai from Thai and Dutch methods.
Muay Thai
They teach Muay Thai as the science of eight limbs: hands, shins, elbows, and knees. The page also contrasts it with Lethwei, which allows headbutts.
Their page says a kickboxing hour can burn 350 to 500 calories or more, and that they look for a heart rate around 75 to 85 percent of a regular beat.
